He wasn't visionary, as far as the last contract goes. He gave his last/best final offer to the union, and they said no. He stopped negotiating. When he realized that X number of his planes would be parked on ramps gathering dust for lack of crews, he came back to the union with a reasonable offer, which is their new contract. It was only because of the Pilot Shortage that they got a decent contract, not because of Connie.
In other words....Connie, through his one eye had a VISION of planes being parked, customers walking away and him losing $$$. Thus he signed a contract. Thanks for the insight.
