Yes but the union gave no notice for anyone to do any campaigning to try and prove why they should be the leaders. So basically those who won, won because their friends voted, or recognized a name. I tired to think of why I didn’t vote and frankly there is no good reason so truly shame on me.
I will qualify however I have been a dues paying ALPA member for the better part of 7 years in this sector of the industry and I have yet to realize any return on my “modest” 2 percent investment. It to be honest has just been another bi weekly tax I pay for the privelage of working.
If voter turn out is any indication of union support and apathy I would be very worried if I was a union boss as to the move to a National right to Work law.
I guess I just dont believe anymore that employees can tell there employer how it’s going to be anymore then the electorate has been successful at telling Washington how it’s going to be.
No excuses here I’m definitely part of the problem but just the way I see it when I thought about it this morning.
