The company approached our unions about the elimination of the DAL service prior to the announcement, and fortunately, the LASA side has new union leadership that was able to work with the LXJT side, bury the hatchet if you will, and work out a combined seniority list. I think the hope was that it would entice enough CRJ pilots to transition over to the ERJ side and take on more UAL flying. Unfortunately, there has been a max exodus of pilots from the CRJ side since the announcement. It began with FO's who were looking at another 5+ years until they could upgrade, then captains, then senior captains. I just don't think anyone trusts management anymore. If you look at old Comair posts about the time they were shut down it is all eerily familiar.
