This is why Compass will not survive long term...There are so many things against Compass in respect to this being a business, that at the end of the day the way Compass operates currently isn't sustainable. The only way to survive is to adapt, and unless they start doing so, it won't last another 5-10 years until the current CPA's are up. Every decision that has been made at Compass post DL sale has been a direct result of reducing cost to maximize profit. Compass is purely in business to return money on an private investment from an individual owner. It's that simple...

There are 4 long term outcomes at Compass:
A sale to another regional;
A sale to a major airline;
A merger of TSA, G7, and CP;
Dissolve at the end of the CPA's and non-owned assets (aircraft) go elsewhere

We cannot grow because we do not have the facilities nor the labor force to do so...as nice as it would be to grow that's reality. Each major is hiring 1k to 1.5k pilots a year and there is little behind us to replace the seats.

Keep something else in mind, think about the cost to continuously move people to and from training in MSP. That's an enormous cost, to think that that will continue long term is not logical. That's money out of HK's pocket and while in the short term it may take a hit to move, long term its a better decision to move everything west for cost purposes alone.

Compass is a privately held airline that any profit goes to holdings and either ends up at the bottom of HK's pocket or is invested into a pool of money that potentially ends up at any of the holdings carriers based off of need.

It is a great place to work with great people, but if the head honchos choose to turn their heads to reality and don't adapt to the way the industry has already headed towards, they will be left out to dry...Compass is a staffing company pure and simple, our assets are our people, the most expensive thing we own is a simulator in MSP...it's why its important we continue to perform well...if we do that we make more money and can attract more people
