Look at it this way... If you work for PSA, Piedmont, or Envoy you have a guaranteed no degree required / no interview flow to a legacy mainline job. Even IF that flow takes 7-8 years. In the meantime you are free to apply to anywhere else you may want to go. Of the group of pilots I started with at PSA some years ago, easily half have left for Delta, JetBlue, FedEx, Spirit, Allegiant, etc. They didn’t want to wait to flow and that is great for them. No one should have to wait to flow. Pilots at the AA WOs have a guaranteed job at AA and have as good a chance as anyone else of getting hired at DA and UA. The same can not be said of pilots at non-WOs.

Pilots that do not work for AA WOs have to “roll the dice”. They have to hope they can get one of the scant few jobs at AA (after WO flow-throughs and military fighter pilots). Delta is hiring primarily military pilots (as they have always done) and also many from Endeavor. UA has interview programs set up with a few of their regional partners. Where does that leave pilots at non-WOs? With a smaller chance of being hired.
