The company info said the Paris commuting would be hard, it didn't say anything about Hong Kong not being commutable. The FCIF info basically said the same thing.

Paris: "The CDG 757 lines and pairings will be conducted under domestic scheduling rules. The lines and pairings should be similar to the Memphis B727 and A300 lines and samples are attached. The sort will continue as currently operated, i.e., hub turning thru CDG in the critical (domestic) duty period. System form will continue to evolve as more aircraft are added in late 2009. "

Hong Kong:
"The bid pack will consist of the usual mix of reserves, hotel standbys and airport standbys.

The flying will mimic Subic using international rules, just as today. Commuting may be feasible but the LOA enhanced move package requires residency."

Now I think they are doing it because they want to convince as many SFS guys to bid HKG as possible, but that's besides the point in the posted question. Commuting does seem to possible and not minded by the company there as it probably will ultimately save them money on the GT and maybe the move package in addition to the above reason. Of course RedEye is right about trusting the bid packs at your own risk.
