Good group of pilots, I’m sure, but management, not so much.
I find management alright. Management upped the FO pay over what our ALPA reps were asking for. Pilots can make 300% regularly and credit well over 100 hours, some over 160 hours, per month.

QOL depends on one’s commute if a pilot has a family. There isn’t a better regional at IAH than Mesa.

As far as upgrades, not all regionals are equal. ExpressJet is still upgrading at 9 years. SkyWest is 3 years on the Ejet. There are regionals like Compass where you end up in LAX, or some other expensive city, after your upgrade.

If he wants a quick upgrade, go someplace and fly the equipment where he will be upgraded in less than a year. If he goes SkyWest, that is a commute or moving to DTW and flying the CRJ. If he goes with Envoy, that is a commute to ORD and flying the E145.

If he has a family, wants to live in CRP, then QOL arguments are different. He needs to sort through what is a priority to him.
