Then, you can shave 500 hours off of the time in the right seat to upgrade. I do recommend that you check out Envoy as they have a flow to American and you should get DFW with time. Upgrade times are longer with Envoy than Mesa.

If you are willing to move or commute long distances, then you should open yourself up to other regionals. You should look at regionals that upgrade in less than a year with your 500 hours of military time. Just be careful to ask where junior CA’s are based (if someplace like DTW or LAX isn’t appealing). The faster you build 121 PIC time, the faster you move on.

Also, even if you go someplace where it takes longer than a year to upgrade, you can use your 500 hours military time and instead of flying the right seat, work in the training department or some other resume building activity that the majors really like.
