We have all seen smiling criminals...Smisek comes to mind. I’m sure you have started a go fund me for him and volunteered your support of his wrongful send off.

Personally I don’t see a benefit to the company to fire someone without a good reason. In this case it is someone who was well liked. So to just target her to irritate the pilot group is pretty much tin hat region. I suspect that if termination is the result it was for a pretty good reason or reasons. And to be quite honest it’s none of anyone’s business to know why. Would you have the same reaction for a fired ramper, mechanic?

You can put your money wherever you want. Just don’t expect everyone else to follow.
You know Lambourne, I don't know the facts of this case (and I get the idea neither do you), so for you to start throwing red herring arguments out just isn't fair. This woman, and fellow UAL employee, deserves the benefit of the doubt as much as you would if you got in a bit of a pickle.

Additionally implying they are doing this to "irritate the pilot group" or making the implication that is what others believe about the situation is also not very kosher.

And to answer your question as direct as I can, yes if I knew and had worked with that ramper or mechanic I would feel the same.

Maybe just caring about someone in their time of struggle, self imposed or not, is what the coming holiday season is about.

Oh and I might add that if JS were my personal friend, I'd visit him in jail and see how the food and friendship was going there.
