And to answer your question as direct as I can, yes if I knew and had worked with that ramper or mechanic I would feel the same.
Maybe just caring about someone in their time of struggle, self imposed or not, is what the coming holiday season is about.

You make a lot of generalizations. Stated the office avoids contract compliance. Did you file a grievance for the massive “weasel out of” compliance issues?
I suspect you hold the company’s feet to the fire in compliance and you take full advantage of the CBA. I should think they also expect compliance. You want them to look the other way to meet your needs but don’t expect them to do so on their behalf.
To cross pollinate this issue with pilot contract issues is a broad brush. Again do your go fund me and do what you think is best.
