I'm going to disagree with you on this. Both United and Delta had this provision well before us CAL guys ever showed up. CAL always paid widebody rates for 767-200 so I'd venture to say Delta and United dropped the ball way before our first combined contract ever hit the scene.
Yeah, it was a hell of a deal! And the CAL guys attempted, albeit unsuccessfully, to get the 757-300 included as widebody based on the premise that it carried more pax than a 767-200.
