Default Skywest v2.0

Funny thing is, many on here probably don't have squat for type ratings or turbine time, yet they think they're worth $100K a year plus. This industry is screwed.

This industry (or any industry for that matter) is not about what we are worth. It’s about what we negotiate. And for a new hire Skywest pilot, the best way to negotiate is with your feet. I see ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with a new hire pilot with no type ratings or turbine time getting $100k. If endeavor or someone else is willing to pay that, then more power to those pilots.

You should be happy for your fellow colleague.

I take great pride in my job. I have 20 years left eligible to fly 121 and not sure if I'll stay here or move on. Either way, it's my business. For the ones who stay, that's their business and right too.

It's absolutely ridiculous for anyone to blame pilots for the decisions of management. BTW, I voted no on the TA too.

Yeah, it’s none of your business if this pilot wants to go to another regional and cite the better pay. I would say it’s absolutely ridiculous for anyone to blame pilots for making that decision, the only one that management can’t do anything about!

I've no problem with someone doing what's best for themselves. If management can't pay enough to keep new pilots here it shows a problem with the pay scale that needs to be addressed.

I care about the future and my job with Skywest and I have been here more than a decade and I am one of those that flown commercially for more than 20 years and have paid my dues many times over and I am angry and disappointed with all pilots that do not have the capacity to see the bigger picture adapt and understand what is really important and what really needs to be done at any given moment to survive in these times. Voting yes for a 5 year contract disconnected to the reality of the industry puts all our jobs and our company at risk. To survive and to stay competitive we need to be able to staff the Airline and for that it is critical that we pay the best and not the worst like what we have achieved.

Don’t say that to amcd! I’m still waiting on him to comment on this considering the new endeavor TA (which he poo-pooed) was ratified.
