Dude, I don't know why you can't understand that not everyone at Skywest suddenly doesn't hate their job here just because of a lousy new TA. So what.....it's still better than what was there before. No, it's not great, but still a little better than before. I voted no because I wanted a little more negotiation, but realize it's still a regional and we're a subcontractor who has to keep our rates competitive to secure long term contracts. I think it sucks that it didn't go to negotiation, but now that we're past that, I realize the company will do what they want anyways. Regional flying is dying, whether you see that or not, and anything we can secure right now for four major partners within the next few years is good. If we all wanted, we can price ourselves right out of business. Pay big bonuses to new hires who'll leave soon, raise pay 10% or more, and pay profit sharing on top of that, we'd close up shop during the next economic downturn.
I've read many of your previous posts and all you do is blame pilots for what management decided on. Get over it. It is what it is and many here at Skywest are looking long term at a dying side of flying. It's not about big money right now, it's about securing jobs for as long as possible. Most here like their jobs, like being based out west, like their QOL, and want to stay here both short term or long term. And please.......don't give me the stupid worn-out crap talk about how pilots have power with their feet or some garbage like that. Many of us who've been in this industry 20 years or longer know that management will find someone else to replace those who walk. I'd rather be here with a job right now making more than I've ever made from any flying job versus being on the street right now.
