Same at American. I’m JFK based but live in PHX. I like the European and SA flying we do on the 767, plus the trips are more productive than the PHX 757 flying. Once the 767s move to PHL I probably will bid there until I can hold LAX on the 787 or JFK on the 777. Routes and equipment translate to a bigger paycheck.
Some people do this sort of thing, but for me, there's no way. I'm at AA myself, and could've held MIA 767 International years ago, but there's no way I'm going to willingly commute for any airplane, seat, or city-pair trips. Being based where I live is priceless. I've spent years commuting - often cross-country - and it gets old fast. NO thank you. I'll stick to my narrow body airbus out of LAX thank you very much.
