I don't understand this whole "pax can't get off or on an airplane" if they habe a boarding pass. The pax could have gotten off, and they did, to retrieve their laptop, because TSA won't release an item to someone that doesn't belong to them.

“Ok sir you have a boarding pass, go run up there and grab it and come right back **points at watch**, we’ve got five (insert whatever time you want) minutes until the flight is pushing back.”
“Ok ma’am I’ll be right back”
**said person never returns, FA and crew forget he got off**
Plane pushes back, 30 minutes into flight, it now is part of the 7pm news...
