Actually, it was just bad luck. Portland had Clyde Drexler, who they had drafted one year prior. Played the same position as MJ. And Bowie was an awesome 7 foot talent at Kentucky. Had he not been injured, things would have been very different. Just very bad luck.
The blunder by Portland was taking Greg Oden over Kevin Durant! That was just bad.
Wasted 2nd post. Bowie was the worst pick in the history of sports, much like a mythical NYC 717 going 4th would be. Ryan Leaf would give him a run I suppose but this is airlinepilot central, not crappy draft choice central so I'll leave that argument for another forum.
