One small number in a sample is a statistical outlier. If it continues then it becomes significant. AAG isn't dumb they know the staffing situation elsewhere. But to react too early and cave with EDV pay rates before it's necessary is leaving money on the table and would annoy investors. The hard part is to know when to blink.

In the rapidly changing environment of regional airlines Envoy has some strengths but now has several major issues to deal with. Some that come to mind:

1-Hourly wages that are now 23% behind the leader in the business.
2-One of the lowest sign-on bonuses among all competion.
3-A reputation of bad schedules and fewest days off.
4-A slowing flow to American that is creating questions, doubt and value of waiting years and years.

Just my opinion but only 2 of the above can occur at once and still attract large numbers of new hires.
