The limit of validity on the 717 is 60K flight hours or 60K cycles.
DC9 had 100K/100K,
88's are at 50K/50K
90's are 60K/90K
That's the default limit, for the DC9 I think we had extension to 106K.
But regardless, I heard, we are not getting 717's from HA.
Having/making parts is getting a bigger and bigger of a problem on 717 and 90..
I heard the 717 fleet will go away as soon as SWA is finished subsidizing our leases.
The 717 rumor I heard was that RR is charging Boeing style prices for engine refurbs and that we were giving them all back when the engines get to a certain point. Might have been true at one point, might still be true, or might be true in 10 years considering the whipsaw decision matrix management seems to employ with our fleet.
