I have not heard that rumor though there has been much talk about “good things coming from UAL”.
While not fair to the ERJ pilots who have been hauling UAL for a while I can see the logic in doing something like that.
The CRJ side is imploding as pilots race for the exits and flying for UAL competitors, primarily Envoy and Endeavor. If UAL does not do something fast they will find their ERJs parked on ramps throughout the US with no pilots to fly them.
In addition, many CRJ pilots were hauling UAL pax out of IAD for years but never got a CPP.
