I don’t think UAL can afford to Comair XJT right now. This is not 2012. They need the feed and right now all the pilots are going to their competitors- Envoy and Endeavor. Inc can’t do all the UAL flying while also servicing their other contracts. Like it or not you can’t fill larger airplanes without smaller airplanes doing the feed from the thinner markets. When the 145s start getting parked because there are no pilots willing to fly for UAL feeders it will hurt the bottom line and if they have have a brain UAL management knows this.
But we shall see. If there is no good news by January, and I mean real good news not “we are getting rid of the -200’s to concentrate on dual class flying” good news, there won’t be enough warm bodies to finish the DAL contract.
