Which goes back to the argument of whether you're trying to earn as much money as possible or the 7 on 7 off home base is more important. I personally hate the thought of commuting and crash pads. To each their own.
Not all commuters have crash pads. In fact, I have yet to meet someone at my airline in my base that has a crash pad.
