You don't have to do the GS bus button on the F/A panel anymore. Was a holdover from the non-NG aircraft.
As a PS, I never terminate an aircraft at a maintenance station.
If the airplanes were more regularly powered down completely dark, with GS switch selected, maybe we wouldn’t have as many electrical issues- especially with the entertainment systems. Every computerized device needs to be shut off periodically.
