We could effectively be right back where we were in 2014. Having said that, I doubt our company leaders would be willing to shoot themselves in the foot, and kill off the pilot group by doing away with these items. But without them being written into a long term contract, it gives AAG the ability to be able to do away with them, if they should ever decide that Eaglevoy isn't worth that effort anymore. Endeavor was smart to solidify all of those temporary LOA items into a solid long term contract. If anything, it gave their workgroup a sense of stability.
I agree. I’ve noticed Delta takes pride in its employees being industry leader in pay and has translated in great service. AAG does it just to compete, as Parker always says, we have to compete. He says the word compete constantly! In Parker’s eyes, better work rules and pay raises for ENY will only come in order to be competitive with Endeavor & Delta. Only then will we be then taken care of. It’s like a price war strategy.
When benchmarks are known by AAG executives managing Regional feed, they will know what ENY needs to compete. Let’s hope they want significant contract language improvements and pay raises so that we can compete. If AAG sees data & proof that we can still be competitive recruiting and performing without contract language, work rules, and pay improvements, 2018 will be business as usual. We will know that AAG is not confident in their basic economy and premium economy push to increase revenue and mainline profit margins. On the other spectrum, if these new product offerings roll out and stabilize nicely and data reflect a success along with new route structures, and seasonal offerings, ENY and the other “Me Too” WO’s may get the increases we’re seeking to match & compete. At the very least contract Language & reserve rule improvements will come home to roost sooner rather than later. It’s “unEnvoyable.” [emoji57]
