What is industry standard? or should I say who has the industry standard contract?
I would say UAL/DAL/AA/FedEx/UPS/SWA, and maybe Alaska. Something comparable to an average of the above contracts would be industry standard. I think, in the future, if any of the above airlines has a contract that is definitely sub-standard to the average, they will have a very difficult time staffing.
The average US regional pilot is being competed for by the above carriers, plus JetBlue, Atlas, Kalitta, Sun Country, Allegiant, Frontier, Omni, China, Middle East carriers, Japan, Hong Kong, corporate, etc., etc. It is turning into one giant hiring basket, with all aviation organizations competing for the same pilots.
