Sounds like you've made up your mind.... In my opinion, it sounds like you have chosen wisely.
Just because "it could be worse" doesn't mean we should settle for sub-standard QOL and pay. If that's what one prefers, there are plenty of non-union fly-by-night employers who would gladly hire such an employee.
In my opinion, it's healthier to avoid the Kool Aid.
