CANPA approaches are much better then dive and drive. We have been doing the for years at XJT. You fly it much more like an ILS and go around at the DDA makes it so that you won’t go below minimums. Yes you do have to pay attention to the approach, I mean god forbid you have to pay attention for 5 minutes.
CANPA is great especially in the 900. For spool up on a go around if you hit it at MDA with it being such a long airplane you will descend below with the tail. DDA is a great idea and saves your ass.
