If say 5 guys carried a copy of the petition with them when flying and asked all the other pilots to sign it then you would easily have 50% plus demanding the union accept the company's latest take it or leave it offer

The union could not ignore that and Atlas could not stop it.

The Omni pilots on here demanding to vote now should have no problem getting more than 50% to sign it, since you keep telling us how many pilots are demanding the union accept the offer.
You’re on to something here Screwed.

Although I doubt anyone’s is implying we vote on the company “take it or leave it” proposal. No one has even seen it.

What I think some are saying is:

1-The proposal would need to be vetted by attorneys on both sides to make sure that it meets legal and enforceable criteria. That shouldn’t take long, assuming the sides would agree to meet.

2-Once language is finalized, then YES. By all means. Let the pilots SEE it.
Let the pilots VOTE. If more than 50% of the members vote in favor it passes. If they don’t, it doesn’t.

Is everyone going to be happy ? NO.
But that is true of any process where voting is involved.

As to weather ATLAS and the Union could ignore that ? Well, that’s where you and I disagree. I believe they can and they have.
