It has been, hands down, the easiest flying and training that I’ve ever done.

As for military pilots, I guess they figure if we can fly point A to B and put warheads on foreheads or whatever assigned mission, than it shouldn’t be a problem going point A to B in a highly scripted 121 environment with another mouth breather in the cockpit.

You will have to teach the Navy folks how to flare for landing, however.
The timeline from showing up to the aircraft, to push was all new to me. And for the type (just like most places I assume) I had to learn captain and FO roles and duties. It’s all easy as hell now and is by far the easiest flying I’ve ever done. But I had never called for push, I had no idea of the communication between the flight deck, tug, and ground etc. it just took energy that I didn’t have as I was learning a new type at the same time. Now if I went somewhere else or got a new airline jet type it would be a nothing burger.

I feel like for every 135 jet type I’ve done, the paperwork side, and secondary procedural stuff came after the type.
