Many pockets were hurt. AA mainline does know. I’ve asked numerous crew members for thoughts while jump-seating. Your a good guy! Your a positive guy, and I like your posts I see u on JC also. I’ve been following this industry a long time, and actually appreciate your honesty & posts chrisreedrules your one of the few liked, and your very aware that the hurt runs deep.
To a New PSA FO off IOE, or a 20yrs lifer at PSA reading this, Eagle Pilots have a great reputation & high level of respect in this industry for fighting the good fight and trying to set the bar high for EVERYONE, not just ourselves, same for Republic Airways, and the now defunct Comair. Spirt & Frontier has gain a lot of respect also amongst pilots everywhere. You'll be surprised how much Mainline Pilots talk about the industry during cruise @ FL380. Just ask them if your brave enough to want to hear the truth. They follow the hiring trend and the fights, they know what MESA was with easy phone interviews & hiring, poor pay, work rules/concessions happy, with SJS pilots flocking over there, and people with skeletons safty records dings flocking over to MESA. They know MESA’s pilot group is rebuilding their reputation now with their new TA, pay, and increased work rules. We spoke about it recently.
Also, something for every PSA pilot to think about, 50% of AA mainline class (IF not metered) & a large majority of the pilots were/are coming from Eagle-voy or the military... Many of those same guys will be upgrading to the CA position, many are aware. Mainline AA pilot Group is or will be an extension of mainly Eagle-voy and military pilots where unity and toeing the Line is respected, sadly pilots don’t forget easily. Eaglevoy nor mainline has. I’ve heard of some few PSA pilots getting the sheet handed to them at mainline/Indoc/on the Line by APA folks.
“Welcome aboard, but don’t do that sheet you did to Eagle over here.... {with the side eye stare.}
AA mainline pilots are very aware! One of them (Non-Eagle hired off he street) told him himself. I challenge you to ask for the crews honest opinion and thoughts when next you commute or ride the jumpseat. The industry is moving along and it would be nice for Eaglevoy to forget the past, but non has or will, Congrats on the increased flow tho. I mean that honestly, I’m not relying or waiting on it. I’m all-in with the 1st major that calls. I recommend you all do the same.
Questions: How many PSA guys are getting picked up off the street at other mainline/OAL? Is the Flow & SAP what many choose PSA for? I did not say “Bases” because many two leg commute for PSA.
I think its funny that you believe this honestly. Roughly 50% of the existing folks at AA are USAirways they don't give a **** about the regionals. Hell, they can't name any of them. It's funny how much you Eagle guys lean on the past as a crutch. "Fight the good fight"??? What good fight, the shortest one to the unemployment line? I am tired of hearing this suggestion that the PSA guys should have continued to fight for something they weren't going to get. It was pretty clear that they were gonna do away with us. So, suggesting that 500 folks should start over at the bottom at some other regional or in another career to help the Eagle guys "fight the good fight" is bizarre.
PSA did what they had to, after they turned down several other offers.
It helped us in the long run. Sometimes you have to make concessions.
Hell, the USAir folks were on a concessionary bankruptcy premerger garbarge contract until the most recent merger. This of course allowed them to keep their seniority and jobs, but I can't imagine you would take a hit to keep your job? You'd rather start over to make virtue signaling points to your peers.
