It's interesting to look at the hiring philosophies of each airline. Curious as to why they are as such?
It seems that SWA still values plain ole' experience....lots of TPIC and gobs of total time (8000-10000 for civies). I would probably lump FDX and UPS into this lot as well.
UA and DL seem to hire a lot more civilians in the 3-5000 TT range with sometimes little to no PIC. Seems like those that get through are heavily networked. I.E., UA's CP meet & greets and DL's internal referral system. Good ole' boy club still in tact maybe?
Not too sure about AA's hiring philosophy as it seems most of their hires are coming through their regional feed. From what I take, most of their off the street hires are mil.
