Wow, a lot of defensive on the smoking issue. I don't think most individuals care how other pilots live their own personal life, when it does matter is when a guy goes outside right before a flight and lights one up for a last quickie, and then comes hurrying back to the flight deck for the flight. The smell comes too and that's pretty uncalled for.
Rude is rude. Farting at the threshold and dragging it into the cockpit doesn't smell nice either.
That's why I forbid all my copilots to indulge in protein shakes or mexican food on layovers.
