I understand this means new routes between US and Mexico but how many does F9 have of those? It seems as if we stand to lose the Denver to Cancun and other routes but also stand to gain Dallas to Mexico City (or like) possibly. How much gate space does Volaris have and where?

Codeshare works both ways. I, for one, wouldn't mind an overnight in Aguascalientes or Cayman islands or elsewhere Volaris flies. Let's see what happens here before we cry wolf...
In a perfect world you own all the flying. If they want to grow in Mexico then they should use pilots on the frontier seniority list.

You are right Volaris cannot fly domestic but what’s to stop them from codesharing with Spirit all of your growth. Jetblue would’ve had widebodies long ago but they codeshare with Hawaiian, Cape Air, Emrites, Virgin Atlantic, the list goes on. Delta has substantially less wide bodies than united because of their codeshare language. You want to own all the flying, period. There is little to no difference from a pilot standpoint from codesharing and a regional CPA. It’s outsourced flying and your scope allows unlimited.

At Spirit we have unlimited codesharing but it protects all Spirit pilots from furlough. Still horrible and a big thing we want to change with this TA. When neither Obama or trump stopped NAI we knew it was only a matter of time for a LCC trans ocianic codeshare. I don’t want anyone to be able to buy a ticket on Spirit to Europe without a Spirit pilot flying them the whole way. I think Norwegian already codeshares with easyjet in Europe. I don’t want Spirit to fly atl to FLL then Norwegian to Europe then easyjet to points onward. Or worse frontier operates the first leg and not a single Spirit pilot flys that ticket

Wow air is another LCC and they operate from Iceland to BWI and LAX. Ben baldanza the old Spirit ceo is on their BOD. This is a real threat and this Volaris thing is just the tip of the iceberg
