I'd guess that a tremendously ample amount of security could be provided for a very, very small fraction of the money burning buybacks.
UAL puts crews, including new hires, into downtown hotels in a nice area (near our long stay location) and provides regular shuttle service to their "TK" campus.
The VA Ave area has potential and the location is convenient, but IMO its time to either provide the necessary 24/7 security for the area or move all crews somewhere else.
