My wife flies for SWA....As an FO her bidding closed on the 9th and two hours later she had her line. They also have avoidance bids for Captains they don't want to fly with. UAL bidding is a disgrace.
But they also do line bidding which really doesn’t have he same computing requirements as PBS. Not defending it, but it’s much easier for the computer to dole out your choice of lines then it is for it to spit out every single PBS request.
I do not like PBS, but I wouldn’t use SWA as an example of the gold standard of IT-just ask anyone that works there-it’s worse than we are. (I’m not just talking about bidding).
I’d be happy to close bidding a week earlier if we could get our schedule a week earlier.
