Absolutely correct. It isn't my airline, nor my CBA, but my family may very well be affected by this because when the time comes for us to renegotiate in a couple of years, we'll have your contract thrown in our face, and all this while your CEO, his inner circle, and SAVE shareholders laugh their way to the bank along with ours.

You can rest assured they all will be comparing notes as to how Fornaro got his pilots to accept subpar pay rates, PBS (do more with fewer pilots), and how he got away with getting his pilots to accept a mere bonus as opposed to full retro. Why do you think all of our contract negotiations tend to drag out as long as they do? It's beneficial for management to get you and your negotiators to the point of 'negotiations fatigue' just to get it over with. Then they reward themselves and the shareholders with money that should have been yours (full retro). Anything short of full retro rewards management stalling good faith negotiations... and some of you folks seem hellbent to reward them for it too.

As I said... unfortunate.
How many contract cycles did it take for SWA not to have industry lagging rates? As to your more recent negotiations, It’s easy to say no when you’re already making $250k and you already have scope, LTD and rigs in place. That will be us on the next go around and we’ll have much more leverage once we have the luxury of saying no. You’re asking a 5th year CA currently making $130k per year with no DC, LTD or adequate scope to say no to $200-$250k per year plus LTD, scope and DC. Probably not going to happen.
