There's a game to play that can largely mitigate that where you sign up for catastrophic coverage for a month and then sign up for company COBRA (I think that's what it's called) in the final 60 days if you need it at any point.
It's been too long, but it works something like that and is what we did when we were in training.
The trick I played was carrying my previous airline coverage into the first 30 Days of Spirit employment followed by the 60 day grace period to signup for COBRA after the termination of our insurance.
Shouldn’t have to play tricks at a respectable Airline gig.
