All I'm saying is that Jetblue has probably had MSP in their plans well before they made the announcement. It would've been just as easy for them to start service Jan '18 to lead up to the biggest sporting event of the year.....Patriots or not, there's going to be a lot of traffic. I agree with you, it could be a huge money maker. And who knows if we aren’t starting until May because that’s what we were given, or because they realize it’s a seasonal route and they’re only doing it in the summer. If it’s the later, then the loads this time of the year probably wouldn’t sustain the operation. We need Blue boots on the ground in MSP to run an operation. So, we start Super Bowl runs for the weekend. But normal loads are dead. Are we supposed just run empty airplanes back and fourth until May just so our employees in MSP get a paycheck? Can’t exactly hire and train people for a weekends worth of flights/charters then say to them “thanks, come back in May when we’re ready for the real thing.”
Or it could be just a matter of gate space. Maybe we physically can’t fly there until May.
Or the most likely scenario, the thought never even crossed managements minds...
