Here’s another one. Lots of lucrative CRAF flying available in run up to Iraq War. LCAL couldn’t bid on it because we didn’t have enough pilots. She had done one last furlough based her number crunching that if reserves flew more we'd need less pilots. Not only could we not bid CRAF but during the all-too-regular irregular ops there were no reserves to cover the flying. Lots of cancellations and bad publicity. No one happy. She gone.
