Delta and American are staffing their regionals with little or no problem. SWA is hiring up to 1000 pilots this year and they are hiring mostly regional guys. All the LCCs will hire the United regional pilots over the next couple years and that's your new competition. Play smart or lose!
Sounds like a great argument to bring RJ's to mainline That will take care of scope. That will take of that section to our new contact. That will take care of supply and demand of your so called "pilot shortage" at the United regionals. At minimum initially would need less pilots there, stop the bleeding. and at best, we wont need United regionals at all. Wind down while building up. Staffing wont be a problem. We can play smart, United will have full control and hire the best and brightest. But you definitely not wrong, you would be be able to say you're correct on one thing and get what you wished. LCC's will in fact hire United regional pilots. Best and brightest doesn't include everyone. Also not every single United regional pilot will apply at United., -you said yourself you would rather go to Spirit. and thats great! And i'm sure there others out there.
