It seems to me that would be unnecessary as under the current conditions the union probably has the best deal they possibly could. A no vote changes those conditions and will undoubtedly cause the company to come up. The question is how much and in how long. Before anyone says they could hold out indefinitely consider if that is the case why do we even have the offer we have now.
Veiled threat sales pitch? Resign out of anger? Do you even know the three guys on the NC? Just because you read it on the internet doesn’t make it legitimate. Here’s an idea: why don’t you wait til next week and ASK them?
