Now don’t get me wrong, if a group can get the legacy 401k plans, that is way better than the equivalent pay raise. I have always contributed the max every year into my 401k. I have other investment accounts and I invested in rental property. Diversity is what it is all about regarding a secure retirement. Bottom line, fight for retirement benefits but certainly don’t count on a single source.
This quote is why we can't have nice things. Please know what you are worth. You are a HIGHLY skilled professional. You are worth having them pay for your retirement because you fly 747s. Not just anyone can do that. You can argue all you want but YOU are a GREAT pilot and I completely disagree with YOU saying that YOU aren't worth it. YOU are worth every bit as much as any Legacy pilot and then some. You fly "Double Crews" and overnight in 3rd world **** holes that Delta pilots wouldn't tolerate. EVERY K4 pilot is worth it.
