I remember when I was a new hire, there was zero information coming off of IOE transitioning into reserve. I'd notice quite often you would see a new name on the list, and a shiney new MA on their first day. Go figure. There was no information. Luckily my commute required me to come in the day before anyways, so I was able to get an answer in the crew room that I had JFK AM standby. Otherwise I'd also have had a MA. And before people start faulting the new hire for not asking the questions, these people just got blasted in the face for two months from the fire hose, some times you just don't know the proper questions to ask.
