We don’t do the MSP, ATL, or DTW legs, only the JFK legs. So you could have the jumpseat on those in your back pocket. DTW isnt bad out of ORD, tons of options on Delta (Skywest mostly) but other airlines too. MDW has the Southwest options as well as Delta out of DTW. Either way you slice it, driving to work is way better than commuting, however, a reasonable commute for better money is worth considering
I believe we do some of the MSP flights too out of ORD.
To the original poster. When one is commutung for better money they should also consider the schedule and commuter clause. We have really good schedules in NYC on the 900 due to the long legs and the fact we're well staffed. Expect 16-18 days off once you hold a line as an fo (more in off season). The new commuter provisions we have are outstanding and unmatched. Try the 7:45 am ua flight, if that doesn't work just call crew scheduling and they will positive space you on the 8:30 delta flight. They'll even pay to bump passengers if needed.
