I'd do the rv thing, and did do that while I was down there. Having your own place is much better in my opinion, and I'm too old to be sharing rooms with other dudes. Avalon landing just over the I-10 bridge is a nice place and has both wifi and cable. Another good one is Pensacola RV park. Both are within 15-20 min of the airport.
