For what it’s worth I did my prep in a Duchess and felt extremely well prepared for the ride. I just went to a local school and asked the CFI to run me through a mock commercial multi ride. That said, I have a good deal of Seminole time from my CFI days, so I was already familiar with the plane’s quirks. But if you’re just looking to knock some rust off ME maneuvers and practice landings/learning not to flare at 50 ft, I think any comparable light twin trainer would serve you just fine.
