AAG loses out on a chunk profits when it has flights operated by a contract carrier vs. a WO carrier. But you're right, performance wise they are doing well so I don't know how much of a priority it would be to transfer them when they could use Envoy's limited resources elsewhere.
A lot can be learned from the past: 2014 announcement of Compass getting the 20 E175

“The opportunity to grow our operation for American beyond the 20 initial E175s we have been awarded also points to a bright future for Compass and our employees.”
1. Hopefully the writing is on the wall, just like AWC’s AA feed. 4 yrs later that opportunity Compass CEO spoke of above has not come to fruition as they hoped.
2. I hope AAG realizes the mistake made in the past “bidding process” which is the reason Compass was awarded the 20 E175 flying vs Envoy which it was originally meant for as we all know. That Bidding process and other decisions made at that time has hurt AAG.... Maybe that is why they went to court to try and get the planes back quietly, and they are reopening LGA/MIA to minimize losses from that failed “Bidding Process.”
“We hope Envoy will be able to fly larger and more cost-effective aircraft in the future,” American spokesman Casey Norton said Wednesday. “The E175 will be awarded as part of a competitive bidding process.”
