Omni 777 proposed 12 CA rate $262
262x64x12=$201,216 plus max 10,000 401K = 211,216
In what world is $211,216 more than $300,846? Add in PS and work rules and the Delta pilot is $175K-$225K ahead of a Omni pilot based on the companies proposed work rules and rate. Are you worth more than 50% of a Delta pilot?
In the world where Delta 767 pay is 277 and the proposed pay at Omni is 272 (as per what the union and company told us regarding going to DOS+1 from the start). I don't pay attention to the 777 since that is not what I fly. I also did say the basic salary not the total compensation and was off slightly since I think the Delta numbers changed by a few dollars since the last time I looked at them (October/November when I think it was something in the mid 260s). That's my fault and I should have double checked it before opening my mouth. In any case we're still talking about a $5 difference. That is a much narrower margin than it used to be between majors and ACMIs.
I don't really care if I'm worth 50% or more of what a Delta pilot is worth. What I do know is that I am worth working under the number Omni is proposing. If you feel you're worth more or you feel you need more then by all means go to Delta. What I do know is it's not worth stalling this thing into next year to get us out of the gutter. The next few days should yield an answer.
Oh, by the way, which work rule at Delta let's me not worry about commuting?
