I tried to "drive to work". Twice. Ended up with 2 rented houses on each side of the country, rented at a loss for 10 and 13 years each.
If you want to stay in Seattle, I would choose Alaska. Worst case, somebody buys them and you get to wear a different uniform and still drive to SEATAC.
In the summer I commute out of SEA, the last few years mostly on DAL. I take DAL because their loads are lighter. Domestically and internationally. I just went from DEN to SEA after my PC. UAL flights slammed, F9 slammed, Alaska slammed. All the DAL flights that day were 50% load factor or less. The MD I flew on probably had 40 pax. I am not sure SEA is working out for DAL, but I think they are desperate for a decent hub to Asia.
You are a very lucky man! I haven't found this to be the case on the DAL flights that I've tried out of SEA.
