Not sure why the company would care who stays in my room as long as I am where I am supposed to be and doing what I am supposed to be doing? Obviously, if there was an additional fee, I'd expect to cover it. I suspect aircrew having visitors in their rooms is not that uncommon. At least this would be one that I am actually married to...
Two plus decades as a Marine aviator. Five overseas deployments in excess of half a year in places where families don't visit. Countless more shorter trips for training, etc. Unfortunately, we are plenty used to being apart and I have learned to take my family time where I can get it.
First, thank you for your service! Second, welcome to Compass! Third, look man, I understand, trust me, but from one professional aviator to another you really need to let this one go. The better option would be commute back home over breaks. You will sometimes get a longer weekend because the instructor lets out early Friday or even finishes on Thur. I went home every weekend during initial up until sims, but I was prior 121, you will need to evaluate your own progress then decide. Once you get to sims there may be large gaps in your training due to availability. If your family has friends or fam living in the MSP area and they wanted to go there and you meet up that would be one thing but I would absolutely advise against having them stay with you for all the multitude of reasons listed above. Source: wife, two kids, one of which I barely saw first year of life because I was year one at CP on rsv commuting, so I do understand.
