The great thing about southwest is that 5000 is a true reflection since they dump old apps every cycle where other airlines their app pool includes ppl that don’t need a new job anymore.
When legacy airlines mention their app numbers, they only count people who have updated in the last six months. So it's fair to compare numbers between Southwest and the legacies.
